I have loved the ranch
It's not really a ranch in the full use of the word. We have no horses (except Ben's), about 7 chickens and a really mean rooster, but three dogs have loved exploring this wild and beautiful place. Sometimes the wind is terrible, the storms are cold and it is not the place to work but other times, the sunsets are beautiful and the blossoms on the tree fragrant. I love watching the deer in early winter and spring as they nibble on the green frond in the pasture. They think Summit ranch is their home and bed down under the trees or in the garden. Then when it is time to plant, the soil is fresh and moist and I have to put hoops over my peas to keep them clear of the deer. Dad used to grow large 180# pumpkins here. When the rock was selling, he was busy. When it was not, he was busy:gardening!
