Over in the famous Uintah mountains where the early Mormons supposedly had a secret gold mine worked by one Thomas Rhodes, there is an agate deposit. Generally covered by snow belt buckle high, there is a petrified horn coral reef of ancient Mississippian rugose corals, richly colored red or carnelian, and these corals make beautiful, interesting small cabs. The fossil structure of each coral is faithfully preserved right down to its "toes", the septa-mesenteries or coral interiors. We mine or buy from other miners, the better whole segments or complete corals, and offer them to you, sorted and cleaned. Limited quantities available only in season.
